Six Weeks and Three Days

Six Weeks and Three Days
Since I last hugged you
and kissed youSix Weeks and Three Days
Since I last saw your beautiful faceSix Weeks and Three Days
Since I rubbed your back
Under your shirtSix Weeks and Three Days
Since I made you oatmeal and toast

Six Weeks and Three Days
Six Weeks and Three Days

Six Weeks and Three Days
Since I told you
“Get back in bed with your mommy now”, and
“Have a good day at school.
I love you so much.”

Six Weeks and Three Days
Since you answered,
“I will”, and
“I love you, too, Daddy”Six Weeks and Three Days
Six Weeks and Three DaysSix Weeks and Three Days
Since the world fell apartSix Weeks and Three Days
Since joy lived in our homeSix Weeks and Three Days
Since we’ve gone a whole day
Without sobbing

Six Weeks and Three Days
Since a moment of Chaos
Shook our lives so violently

Six Weeks and Three Days
Since we all died

Omg, Elene. Nothing is felt so deep such as this poem. It really touched my heart. My mind set was originally to go to this event to learn how to make a foundation due to my newborn loss and for women all over who have perinatal loss. Then i read more and more, and became more engaged with Jamie. He is beautiful. Then i went on to the website and read the name Elene. Oh, that gave me engagement and more meaning to this cause. Then the poems…..in tears…..I’m so interested in being apart of any event that so happens from this day forth. I love you Elene. You have been here for me for my mother, bro.- in- law , and now the recent loss of my newborn. My empathy is with you. Stay blessed.
