Azalea Park Projects

We have been active with our neighbors in honoring Jamie around Azalea Park.  Jamie was a very active and proud "Parkster".  He participated in many clean-ups, tree plantings, crime walks, community events and, of course,  parties.  Trees have been planted for him and more are scheduled to be planted.  One is near the bus stop that he waited at each morning.  Others are on a piece of city property that the neighborhood has turned into a little park area.  We painted a sewer cap with an adapted version of one of Jamie's sayings "People  can't hear their hearts when they are too much in war".  The neighborhood Association had three benches placed around the neighhood(1) at the park and (1 each) at his morning and afternoon bus stops. We tiled the bottom in mosaics to reflect Jamie's colorful spirit. The street that runs into the park and continues as a paper street into the canyon was renamed from Marlborough  to "Jamie's Way".  We want to thank all those who have helped in these projects by planting, cleaning, painting, watering, and supporting our neighborhoods expression of love and grief.
